What Do Superdrug Sell?

They sell a range of health and beauty products and is also an online and in store pharmacy dispenser. Good deals to be had at Superdrug include their own brand skin care products. Makeup by Revolution can often be found cheaper here than anywhere else. You cannot go far wrong when shopping for perfume at Superdrug with some budget prices on offer for well known brands.
In 2018 they launched Superdrug Mobile using the Three network. The network is aimed at regular Superdrug.com customers with mobile plans linked to the Superdrug shopping points card.

Superdrug Store History

Superdrug was founded in 1964 and opened its first store in Putney, London on 26 April 1966. Two more stores followed in Croydon and Streatham. There is a plaque on Putney High Street to commemorate the location of the first Store. The Goldstein brothers Peter and Ronald were responsible for their success when toiletry retailing was in its infancy. Peter Goldstein worked at Tesco’s has a junior buyer of toiletries. This gave him the insight and potential of buying and selling toiletries.

The brothers earned £70 million when in 1987 Woolworth’s Holdings (Kingfisher) bought Superdrug which turned out not to be as successful has it could of been.
In 2001, Superdrug was sold to a European chemist Kruidvat. Superdrug is now owned by Hutchison Whampoa (AS Watson Group) an Hong Kong based multinational conglomerate which also own Savers.

Yes! Superdrug Beautycard. The membership card is called “Health and Beautycard” it can also be accessed through the Superdrug app. It not only allows you to collect points for your purchases, but saves on shipping when shopping online

They offer numerous delivery and collection options. Even a “Lite” eco friendly delivery option, helping to reduce emissions. The click and collect option offers quick in store pick up from 30 minutes if your item is in stock.
It was named by brothers Ronald and Peter Goldstein in London. Peter worked for Tesco at the time and it was a take on Supermarket. Quote from Peter Goldstein “We called it Superdrug so there was a connection to supermarkets”.
