History of Agent Provocateur

Established in 1994 Joe Corre and his wife at the time Serena Rees. Joe Corre was the son of Vivienne Westwood so he must of known a little bit about fashion. Agent Provocateur first shop opened on Broadwick Street Soho, London. It became one of the most prominent luxury lingerie retailers in the UK with Joe being the lead designer. It didn’t stop in the UK but became a global retailer of fashionable lingerie. After Joe and Serena got divorced in 2007 they cashed out to a private equity firm (3i) who came in to swoop up the business. They commenced expansion plans but profits dropped and they entered administration in 2017. Four Holdings a multi retail group purchased the business. Incidentally Mike Ashley has a big lump of shares in Four Holdings, he likes to purchase well known ailing retail brands.
