A Little About Abound UK

History of The Abound story

Abound was one of the catalogue brands under the Littlewoods catalogue umbrella. Abound was integrated into Additions Direct in 2007 which was subsequently transformed to Very. Which is now one of the main digital catalogue businesses online run by Shop Direct Home Shopping Limited. Shop Direct is a shopping multi-brand retailer based in Speak Liverpool. It was established in 2005 after the merger of the Shop Direct retail companies and the former Littlewoods catalogues. It has now rebranded to be called The Very Group. The roots of the group are Northern based mainly in the cities Liverpool and Manchester. It was founded by John Moores and Great Universal Stores (GUS) who go back a long way with mail order UK shopping businesses and the Littlewoods pools. These companies were purchased by the Barclay brothers and a major reconstruction took place to bring them up to date in the modern world of online shopping. The similar shopping links below have an historical connection with Abound catalogue either being owned by them or part of the shopping group or totally separate like the TV home shopping concept QVC.
